I just read this article in NY Magazine, “The Wail of the 1%.” It is stunning to me that so many people on Wall Street are so out of touch (at least as implied by the article). It’s actually doubly embarrassing because I should know having worked there! To be fair, I found Wall Street to be similar to other larger corporate environments, with a full spectrum of people. Most were just trying to do a good job and others were complete a-holes that couldn’t see past their own self-interest. In corporate America, however, I think it’s sometimes harder to tell the difference between the two (relative to Wall Street). Nevertheless, some of the quotes in the article are pretty disgusting.
